QUEER INDIE-POP MUSICIAN MATRACIA RELEASES “Favorite Ghost” MUSIC VIDEO

Queer singer-songwriter Matracia announces “Favorite Ghost,” a haunting new single and cinematic music video inspired by classic cult-horror films. The self-produced track marks a significant step forward for Matracia, who recorded and mixed the song independently in his Brooklyn-based studio. The song and video are deeply intimate, delving into the fear of unveiling one’s deepest traumas to others.
Notably, “Favorite Ghost” was recently selected to screen as part of the Nitehawk Shorts Fest in Brooklyn as part of their music driven showcase on February 29th. This milestone adds to Matracia’s growing profile and follows the success of his last single “Slow,” which caught the attention of acclaimed singer-songwriter Rufus Wainwright – who invited Matracia to open for him on a recent tour.

The video, directed by queer filmmaker Tyler Jensen (known for his work on the documentary “Scream, Queen! My Nightmare on Elm Street” and the 2023 feature film “Our Son”), follows the story of an abusive cult leader and one of his followers who has reached his limit. Shot at a rustic farmhouse in rural New Jersey, the gothic setting and eerie landscape adds to the dark and gritty spirit of the song.

The music video is set to release on February 20, 2024.
